Happy Sankta Lucia Day!

December 13th is the day that we celebrate Saint Lucy, or Sankta Lucia. She was a young, Christian girl from Italy. Saint Lucy would distribute food to fellow Christians being imprisoned because of the Roman persecutions. She would visit them in their dark cells, wearing a crown of lit candles so she could see while also keeping her hands free to disperse food. Saint Lucia's feast day is celebrated all over the world, especially in Sweden. Sweden is the country that 3A will present at our Christmas Program on Tuesday. We can't wait to share what we have learned about the country and the special song used to commemorate the feast day. See you on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Church!

Christmas Program - Here Comes Santa Claus

Hey guys, our Christmas program is only 10 days away! Yikes! I really hope that you guys are practicing your class song in school and at home! In addition, you will have one other song to memorize, "Here Comes Santa Claus". I will post a music video and lyrics below for you to sing along with.

HERE COMES SANTA CLAUS

Here comes Santa Claus
Here comes Santa Claus
Right down Santa Claus Lane
Vixen and Blitzen
And all his reindeer
Are pulling on the reigns
Bells are ringing
Children singing
All is merry and bright
Hang your stockings and say your prayers
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight!

Toy Drive and Coat Drive

Hello Families!
Third Grade is getting in the Christmas spirit by helping others this season! We have three events going on that will greatly help families in need!

1st: The St. Ann's Annual Toy Drive is taking place starting tomorrow. If you are able to bring a new, unwrapped toy to school tomorrow, the students can present them to Student Council and the gifts will adorn our Church altar throughout the weekend. All toys collected by students and parishioners will go to families in need this Christmas.

2nd: The House of St. Cecilia is collecting gently used toys for their own special service project. If your child finds any toys that they do not play with anymore and are still in good condition, they may being them to school to be given to the Middle School students for distribution.

3rd: The third grade classes are conducting their own service project. We will be collecting gently used outerwear for men, women, and children of all sizes to go to shelters. If you find any sweaters or jackets that do not wear or do not fit, please bring them to school and we will send them to local shelters to keep families warm this winter season.

Thank you for all your help and generosity! We hope these service projects will help develop stewardship within our school community and your family. God bless you all and Merry Christmas!
