Place Value
We have been working hard in Math this week on Place Value. I've been very impressed with the students on their progress. Here is a site I found that offers an overview of what we have learned and provides a fun game to help them practice. Hope this helps! Enjoy!

Nancy Larson Science
Hello families!
This year we have begun a new science curriculum at St. Ann's. We will be working with the Nancy Larson Science Program. This is a wonderful, easy to follow program that leads us through everything from our Solar System to plant and animal life cycles. With each unit of study, your child will receive a new booklet that reflects all the lessons and information that we will be discussing. We will use the booklets for note-taking and I will also provide them added experiments and assignments to reinforce what we have learned. At the end of each unit, we will review together in class then take an assessment. I am providing you with a link the website for additional resources for this program. The website is not mandatory or necessary for the mastering of concepts, but rather an added resource to extend comprehension and learning.
The website is www.nancylarsonpublishers.com. You will need to click on "student links" and provide the following information to log on:
Username: stanns
Password: planet
I will also put this information in our resources section. Thanks for all your support and help thus far! Have a great day!

Updated Schedule
Hello Parents!
We had to make a minor change in our weekly schedule. Reading Buddies has been moved to Thursday afternoon at 1:00, and we will do Science on Friday afternoon at 2:30. I have attached a copy of the change here, and it has also been replaced in the Parents section. Thank everyone and have a great week!

Trivia: Day 2
Hey kiddos!
Hope everyone's week is going great so far! Here is Wednesday's Trivia! Yesterday, my sweet mother sent Mrs. Bredimus and I flowers for a "Back to School" gift. This a lovely tradition that she has started ever since I began working at St. Ann's in 2009. We are so fortunate to be in the same city as our wonderful parents. My mom and dad even own and operate a printing company called "House of Printing" a mile and a half away from St. Ann's. Every once in a while, you may get a glimpse of my mom or dad, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes making a printing delivery to St. Ann's!

Trivia: Day 1
Hello students!
Sorry I'm posting a little late! Tomorrow, I will have tomorrow's trivia posted by the time you get home tomorrow. Here is your first day of trivia! As most of you are aware by now, my favorite movie in the whole wide world is the "Wizard of Oz." I used to dress up as Dorothy for many Halloween holidays in my childhood. I had (and even have one in my closet now) many blue and white gingham dresses. Did you know that Dorothy's dress in the movie was actually not blue and WHITE? Dorothy's dress was actually blue and pink! Films in color were just beginning to take off, but were not perfect yet. Her dress actually showed up blue and white on the film! I will post another trivia tomorrow! See you guys then! Have a great night.
