December 13th is the day that we celebrate Saint Lucy, or Sankta Lucia. She was a young, Christian girl from Italy. Saint Lucy would distribute food to fellow Christians being imprisoned because of the Roman persecutions. She would visit them in their dark cells, wearing a crown of lit candles so she could see while also keeping her hands free to disperse food. Saint Lucia's feast day is celebrated all over the world, especially in Sweden. Sweden is the country that 3A will present at our Christmas Program on Tuesday. We can't wait to share what we have learned about the country and the special song used to commemorate the feast day. See you on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Church!
