I Miss My Kiddos!

Hey there 3A!
I just want to let you know that I sure do miss my students, and I happy to hear how much ya'll have stepped up this week while I've been out. Mrs. Bredimus was kind enough to drop by my house yesterday to check on me and leave me some of your papers. I am so happy to see that I'll be adding 7 MORE SCOOPS to our Multiplication Display when I return! Way to go 3A! Keep it up! Looks like I'll be out tomorrow as well :( but keep working hard, and hopefully I'll see my sweet third graders soon! Miss you guys!

New Semester!

What a great first week we had here in 3A! Your kids came back refreshed and eager to learn. I sure did miss them over the break! A few things to keep in mind for this new semester:
  • Please continue to check planners daily as they will continue to reflect their assignments and classwork.
  • We will begin to write in ALL cursive starting on Monday. This will help prepare the students for 4th grade next year.
  • Multiplication will be a big focus this semester. We will work to memorize facts up to 12. Flash cards are great helpers for this skill. If your child has an iPad, iPhone, or other tablet, there are many fun apps out there that can also reinforce these skills.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! Stay warm this weekend! God Bless you all!

Happy Sankta Lucia Day!

December 13th is the day that we celebrate Saint Lucy, or Sankta Lucia. She was a young, Christian girl from Italy. Saint Lucy would distribute food to fellow Christians being imprisoned because of the Roman persecutions. She would visit them in their dark cells, wearing a crown of lit candles so she could see while also keeping her hands free to disperse food. Saint Lucia's feast day is celebrated all over the world, especially in Sweden. Sweden is the country that 3A will present at our Christmas Program on Tuesday. We can't wait to share what we have learned about the country and the special song used to commemorate the feast day. See you on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Church!

Hello Families!
Just a reminder that our Christmas Party is a week away! We are very excited and getting in the Christmas spirit in 3A! Please refer to the invitation send home before Thanksgiving for information about the party and gift exchange. If you are a girl, please bring a small gift for another girl in the class, and if you are a boy, please bring a small gift for another boy in the class. Also, please contact our room mother for some things to bring for the party. If you have any issues or questions, please feel free to contact me! Thank you for all of your support this year. We had a wonderful first semester, and I can't wait to see what we accomplish next semester! Take care and Merry Christmas!
