May Crowning Attire

Practices are going very well for our May Crowning Mass and Ceremony on Friday, May 6th. We hope to see you all there! Here are a few things to keep in mind regarding our Mass attire, as the students are encouraged to wear their "Free Dress Sunday Best."

For the Ladies:
  • A nice dress or skirt would be very appropriate. This is another good occasion to utilize their Easter dresses if they have one.
  • Shoulders must be covered. If a dress is spaghetti strapped or sleeveless, a sweater must be worn over it.
  • Heels or open-toed shoes are okay to wear for the Mass, but must be changed into school shoes after the Mass. Make sure your child is comfortable enough to walk in them as they will move around a bit during the mass and service. No flip flop or beach sandals. As stated in the school handbook, no boots of any kind may be worn.
  • Flats and closed toe dress shoes are a wonderful option that may be worn all day.
For the Gentlemen:
  • Slacks are appropriate for this day. No jeans or shorts. If your child does not have slacks, our uniform pants are a wonderful option,
  • Dress shirts and polos are great to wear. If your child would like to wear a tie or sportscoat, that is perfectly fine.
  • Dress shoes or uniform shoes are appropriate for this occasion. As stated in the handbook, no boots of any kind may be worn.
All in all, if you feel it is appropriate enough to wear to the Easter Sunday Service, it is appropriate for May Crowning. If your child would like to stay in their Sunday Best Attire throughout the day, they may. They may also change back into their Mass Uniform if they are uncomfortable being in their Sunday Best all day.

We can't wait to see everyone! Thanks for working so hard with your children at home! It will be a beautiful service.
