I found this blogpost and loved the variety in strategies she has. My favorite it when she mentions that "You just never know what is going to 'stick' with them!" While we learn how to regroup one way in class and it appears that many students are understanding the steps, sometimes having them look at a new method may work better for them. Here are some videos they can review if your student is still having trouble with regrouping in subtraction. Today in "Tech Time" we practiced our basic addition and subtraction facts. It is crucial for the students to feel confident in being able to do these mentally to continue through our math concepts this year. Practicing with "apps" like we did today or using flash cards or quizzing them will really help them with them with this. Hope this helps out!
